Effective October 24, 2026
These terms govern subscriptions and trials offered directly by Homeroom for Family, LLC, based in Charlotte, North Carolina, through Stripe. They supplement the Terms of Service. You must be at least 18 and authorized to use the payment method you provide.
Paid subscriptions renew automatically until canceled. Family plans have a no-card app trial and a separate first-subscription trial, explained below. Student Plus has no trial and is charged at checkout. You can cancel recurring billing through Stripe's billing portal or request assistance or cancellation at support@homeroomforfamily.com.
These terms do not authorize a charge without the disclosures and affirmative consent required by applicable law. The account's receipt and subscription record identify the selected plan, actual billing dates, charge amounts and applicable taxes.
Prices are in US dollars. Any applicable tax charged through checkout must be disclosed before you authorize payment. Annual prices are charged as a single annual payment, not monthly installments. A different promotional price applies only if specifically offered and accepted in the transaction.
There is no purchase obligation following the no-card family app trial and no requirement to purchase Plus to continue using the student free edition. Do not purchase on the expectation of a feature that is described only as planned or future.
| Plan | Recurring price | Initial payment |
|---|---|---|
| Family monthly | US $12 per month | After the separate 7-day first-subscription trial, if eligible |
| Family annual | US $99 per year | After the separate 7-day first-subscription trial, if eligible |
| Student free | No subscription fee | None |
| Student Plus monthly | US $3.99 per month | At checkout; no trial |
| Student Plus annual | US $24.99 per year | At checkout; no trial |
If your accepted subscription expressly includes the US $59-per-year family founding rate, that rate remains available while that subscription remains continuously active. Canceling and subsequently starting a new subscription does not preserve the founding rate; the price offered for the new subscription applies.
This provision preserves accepted founding offers; it does not represent that the offer is currently open to new subscribers. Applicable tax is separate from the subscription price. We will not treat a temporary payment-processing error as an undisclosed price increase or retroactively change an accepted offer.
Student Plus adds whole-term viewing and past terms; a custom reminder ladder for each deadline; time budgeting; unlimited Share my week links with expiry choices; and customization of accent color and app icon.
The free student edition shows two weeks, provides one reminder the day before a deadline, and allows one share link without expiry. Plus share-link choices are 7 days, 30 days, 120 days (“this term”) or no expiry. A reminder setting is not a guarantee that a particular device, calendar or communications provider will deliver a notification at a particular time.
Subscriptions purchase access to the offered features, not ownership of the software. Changes to material paid features are subject to the provisions on changes and discontinuation below.
The initial family app trial lasts 7 days from signup. No card is required and that trial alone does not authorize any charge. If the Household has not subscribed when this trial ends, it has read-only access.
To start a paid subscription, the Account Administrator must separately select a plan, provide payment information and authorize the subscription. Merely creating a Household does not start Stripe billing.
A Household's first subscription receives a separate 7-day Stripe trial beginning when subscription checkout is completed. It is available whether checkout occurs during the initial app trial or afterward. Subscription features become available when this second trial starts.
Unless you cancel before this separate trial ends, your selected payment method will be charged the selected monthly or annual price, plus applicable disclosed tax, 7 days after subscription checkout. The subscription then renews at that interval until canceled.
The two periods are not a single 14-day trial. Starting checkout early does not preserve the unused days of the initial app trial as additional Stripe trial time. Starting checkout later shifts the first charge later; the first charge is not invariably due within 14 days of signup.
Only the Household's first subscription qualifies for this second trial. A returning subscription has no automatic entitlement to another trial; its first-charge timing must be disclosed at checkout before authorization.
Cancel the Stripe subscription before its disclosed trial-end time to avoid its first charge. A cancellation during that trial stops the automatic conversion to a paid subscription. Canceling or abandoning the initial no-card app trial does not, by itself, cancel a Stripe subscription you separately started.
Use the subscription record for the exact first-charge date and time. We will provide notices required by applicable law; no additional reminder is a condition of your ability to cancel. A promise of a particular reminder applies only if expressly included in your offer and must be honored.
Student Plus is purchased on the web by an authorized adult account owner. Payment is due at checkout; there is no free Plus trial. A monthly purchase renews each month and an annual purchase renews each year until canceled.
The free student account and the paid subscription are separate. Being invited into a Student Space does not authorize charges to your payment method, make you liable for another member's fees, or give you the authority to manage that member's billing.
These direct-purchase terms do not represent that an in-app purchase option exists in the iPhone application. Any future offer through another billing provider must disclose that provider's applicable purchase and cancellation terms before acceptance.
By affirmatively authorizing a subscription, you authorize Stripe to charge your selected payment method for the disclosed initial charge and recurring charges at the selected interval until canceled, including applicable taxes disclosed in the transaction. Authorization does not permit undisclosed fees or price changes without required notice or consent.
Stripe collects and processes payment information. Homeroom does not receive or store your full card details. You must be authorized to use the payment method and must keep billing information accurate.
If payment cannot be completed, we may request an updated payment method, suspend paid access or terminate the subscription, subject to applicable notice requirements. We will not impose an undisclosed late fee, restart a canceled subscription without authorization, or change an agreed rate merely because a payment attempt failed.
A plan change requiring a different charge or credit must be explained before you authorize it. These terms do not prescribe a proration method that was not disclosed in the transaction.
We will provide a retainable confirmation of the selected plan, recurring charges, trial terms if any, and cancellation method. We will send the renewal and other notices required by applicable law. For annual plans, our notice policy is to send an email renewal notice 30 days before renewal, identifying the renewal date, recurring price and how to cancel.
We may change standard subscription prices prospectively. A price change does not alter a period already paid for and takes effect only at a later renewal. We will give at least 30 days' advance notice of an increase and any additional or differently timed notice required by law. Where law requires additional affirmative consent, we will obtain it before applying the increase.
If you do not wish to renew at a changed price, cancel before the renewal date. An accepted continuous-subscription founding-rate commitment remains controlling. A statutory notice requirement is not displaced by a general announcement or by these terms.
You may cancel at any time through Stripe's billing portal for your account. You may also email support@homeroomforfamily.com from your account email or provide sufficient information for us to verify the request. You do not have to explain why you are canceling.
For a paid period already underway, cancellation stops future renewals and is effective at the end of that paid period. Paid access continues through that period unless you also delete the account, request immediate termination, or access is lawfully suspended under the Terms of Service. Trial cancellation is governed by the trial provisions above.
If you send a verifiable cancellation request before renewal, we will not retain a renewal charge caused solely by our delay in processing that request. A request must identify the subscription sufficiently to avoid canceling an unrelated person's service.
Uninstalling an application, stopping use, removing one member or deleting a payment method is not the same as canceling the subscription. Whole-account deletion does cancel the associated subscription, as described below.
Except as required by law or expressly provided in these terms or an accepted offer, subscription payments are nonrefundable. We do not provide prorated refunds for voluntary cancellation, nonuse, removal of one member or voluntary whole-account deletion during a paid period.
We will correct duplicate charges, charges not properly authorized, and charges made after an effective cancellation. If we discontinue the paid service or terminate a compliant paid account for our convenience before the prepaid period ends, we will refund the unused portion of that period.
Nothing limits a statutory cancellation, refund, chargeback or other remedy that cannot lawfully be waived. You may request review of a billing issue at support@homeroomforfamily.com. Any discretionary accommodation does not create a recurring entitlement or amend these terms for other transactions.
Whole-account deletion cancels the associated subscription and removes the Household or Student Space and all attached sign-ins. It ends access to deleted content rather than preserving paid-period access. The ordinary nonrefund rule applies unless one of the exceptions above or mandatory law requires otherwise.
The deletion process also deletes Stripe's customer record, including the associated email and stored payment method. Stripe independently retains invoice and transaction records for its legal, tax, accounting and fraud-prevention purposes, as explained in its Privacy Policy. Deleting an application account does not erase those independently retained transaction records.
Removing one person from a shared Household or Student Space does not by itself constitute cancellation of the account's subscription. Contact support if the person being removed is responsible for billing and administrative arrangements need to change.
We may improve or modify the Service. If a change materially reduces the paid service available during a prepaid period, we will provide an appropriate continuation, alternative or refund for the affected unused service as required by law and consistent with our express commitments.
We do not guarantee that every feature will remain unchanged indefinitely. We will not charge for an unaccepted new plan or eliminate a promised remedy by describing a material reduction as an update.
